After 12 years at the helm Occidental College’s Larry Zubrin has resigned from the water polo program’s head coaching position. He is moving on to an administrative position in the aquatics field. More from oxyathletics.com:
Zubrin’s best season was 2011 when he led the women’s team to its first and only SCIAC Championship. His best year with the men was a fourth-place finish 2008. He coached 15 All-Americans and numerous All-Academic award winners…
Zubrin recorded more wins with the men’s and women’s programs than any other Oxy water polo coach in the NCAA era…
Oxy assistant coach John Bonafede will serve as the interim head coach and former player Jack Stabenfeldt ’14 will serve as his assistant at the SCIAC Championship tournament at Redlands this weekend.
A search for the Zubrin’s replacement will begin immediately.
