For those suffering from high school water polo withdrawals after last Saturday’s bonanza (Illinois, Utah, and Washington all crowned state champions), the girls season in Michigan ends on Saturday, June 1 with the MWPA Championships.
Rockford both hosts and enters the competition as favorites after winning the West Region on Saturday. The Rams, who lost only four games all season, will face Ann Arbor Pioneer in the first round. Ann Arbor Huron eked out a one-goal victory over Skyline in the East Region finals and earned a first round match against 2012 tournament hosts East Grand Rapids.
No word yet on whether the final matches will be streamed as they have been in the past.
