Selected coverage of several items of interest to interscholastic water polo fans this fall season.
- Scores are already on the books at Georgia’s State High School Water Polo Championships in Cumming this weekend. Preliminary matches taking place today, Friday, while the remainder of the tournament spans the remainder of the weekend. The championship match takes place at 4:30PM on Sunday. The ever-growing tournament now includes 21 teams with Blue Devil earning the top seed. Recent champions St. Pius and Collins Hill received the second and third seeds respectively. - Meanwhile, Orange County is the site of the S & R Sport Water Polo Invitational, one of the most prestigious boys’ high school tournaments of the fall season. - The Oregon High School Water Polo Committee has rolled out a refreshed web site at OregonWaterpolo.org including updated league rosters, post-season qualification requirements, and final tournament brackets.
- The Women of Water Polo and Coaching (WOWPAC), an advocacy and development group for female coaches, has been promoting its November summit to be held at Stanford University the weekend of the 23rd. The conference will cover topics from tactics to career development. Details linked below.
