Virginia Military Institute’s first and only head coach, Anna Phelps, has resigned her position according to Keydets Assistant Athletic Communications Director John Stark. The school is looking for her replacement immediately, as tweeted by the CWPA on Monday.
Her tenure will conclude “at the end of the month,” Stark wrote in an email.
Phelps began her work with the Keydets in 2010 after the school announced adding the sport to its women’s offerings in 2009. VMI ended the 2014 season with its best record in its short history with 11 wins and 20 defeats.
