If there were any doubt about the importance of winning last weekend’s SoCal Tournament in Los Angeles, the proof resides in USC’s four-spot rise to the top spot in this week’s CWPA Varsity Men’s Poll. The order of last week’s top four has been flipped completely with Cal taking the second spot followed by Stanford and UCLA, mimicking the final standings at SoCals.

Long Beach State remained fifth, but UCSD climbed two spots after beating UC Irvine and last week’s number six UCSB.

St. Francis is beginning to gain momentum as it seems to do every year and is now ranked 17th after filling the 20th spot last week.

Princeton retains its number one ranking in the CWPA as does Whittier in Division III polling.
