The women of Team USA appear uninterested in losing a tournament. The Americans beat the Netherlands for the second time this week to capture the 2015 Kunshan Water Polo Cup in China on Saturday. The team went 4-0 in the warmup to the World League Super Final scheduled to begin on Tuesday in Shanghai.
Laguna Beach High School graduating senior Makenzie Fischer scored three as did FINA player of the year Maggie Steffens in the championship victory, an 18-9 romp over the 2008 Olympic Gold Medalists. The US women claimed three consecutive tournament titles by the end of the summer of 2014. The Kirshan Cup brings that streak to four with a chance at five at the World League Finals.
