The Napoleon girls began the season ranked sixth in the state by Ohiowaterpolo.com. The Wildcats quickly rose to the second spot by mid-September and maintained it entering this weekend’s state championship tournament. On Saturday they defeated fourth-ranked Sycamore by a single goal to reach the title match where they will take on Upper Arlington, the top ranked team in the state all season.
The final match takes place at Mason High School beginning at 5:45 PM EDT. U.A. will be attempting to win its 14th girls’ state championship. Napoleon last won a championship in 1999, their fourth consecutive one.
