Fresno State University Athletic Director Jim Bartko said today that women’s water polo was “coming in the spring.” The comments took place during a meeting with local media on Tuesday and were conveyed in a tweet by the university communications department.

The university originally estimated a two- to three-year span before a water polo team could be fielded but that “thanks to donations,” the process had been expedited.
